On this International Women’s Day, we wanted to celebrate the commitment of a very special human being. Her name is Zaria Forman, a leading artist in contemporary art with a cause. She is not only an exceptional human being; she is also an incredible American drawer who uses art to convey the emergency of climate change.

This is continued exploration of some work I recently had published for a culture jam project in response to the documentary "The Corporation". There are a lot of layers working here. There are thoughts about food deserts, how multinational corporations prey upon them, and finally how particular images regarding development are used to sell the idea of what hunger should look like.

The money was supposed to be used to create modern art. And it was — but not in the way a Danish museum expected when it gave an artist the equivalent of $84,000. In return, it received two empty canvases. The artist, Jens Haaning, says the blank canvases make up a new work of art — titled "Take the Money and Run" — that he calls a commentary on poor wages. An associate professor of sculpture at Kabul University, she was first introduced to graffiti in 2010 by British artist, Chu, during a week-long course in street art. The story of an artist.
