In May of 2009 lawyer Rodrigo Rosenberg was murdered in Guatemla City. A video was released of Rosenberg directed to the Guatemalan public. If you are watching this, he said, I have been murdered by the president Alvaro Colom. The video caused an uproar and sparked protests throughout the city.

On the morning of April 24th, 2014, members of NYU's chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine signed into several NYU dorms and slipped eviction notices under all of the doors. The eviction notices were written to raise awareness about the eviction of Palestinians from their homes by the Israeli government and stated very clearly at the bottom of the page that they were not real.

Skaggs’ bike was equipped with a fake mobile rocket launcher and a sign that read “ Peace on earth, or else!” A group of elves also accompanied Santa to the UN, and they alternated between handing out green toy soldiers to bystanders and singing their altered version of Jingle Bells, as seen below:

They got in contact to the festival organizers by using a fictitious name, and they distributed 250 trojan t-shirts with a writing “Hardcore Rebels” during the festival. When the recipients of the shirts went back home and washed them.

Portugal's Carnation Revolution

Celeste Caeiro, who on April 25, 1974, handed out red carnations to soldiers on their way to ending a 40-year right-wing dictatorship in Portugal, a spontaneous patriotic act that gave a largely bloodless coup its name, the Carnation Revolution, and her an enduring appellation, “the Lady of the Carnations,” died on Friday in Lisbon. She was 91.
