Being a Kuwaiti citizen makes you feel like you belong to Kuwait, as nationality is a legal relationship between a person and a state. But what if you are a “halfie” and are finding it hard to answer the question “Where are you from?” Those whose fathers are Kuwaiti are automatically considered Kuwaitis but those whose moms are Kuwaiti and fathers are not, they are not granted the nationality, even if they are born here.

Nine protesters pushing for the Empire State to reopen from its coronavirus lockdown were busted Saturday afternoon outside City Hall, for not obeying social distancing guidelines, sources told The Post. The nine were among about 20 who rallied at Park Row and Spruce Street, holding signs that read, “Not Afraid to Fight” and “Reopen NY” sources said. Some of the protesters were not wearing a mask or face covering, a witness said.

Indian Act speaks of the realities of colonization - the effects of contact, and its often-broken and untranslated contracts. The piece consists of all 56 pages of the Federal Government’s Indian Act mounted on stroud cloth and sewn over with red and white glass beads. Each word is replaced with white beads sewn into the document; the red beads replace the negative space.
